FATCA and CRS Obligations
In keeping with international tax compliance standards, all applicants must comply with the requirements of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the Common Reporting Standard (CRS).
This ensures that United Enterprise Credit Union Ltd meets its obligations to the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) and other tax authorities under applicable laws.
All prospective members are required to complete and submit the FATCA/CRS Self-Certification Form – Individual as part of the membership application process.
This form collects important information such as:
- Jurisdiction(s) of tax residence
- Tax Identification Number (TIN) for each jurisdiction
- Declaration of U.S. tax status (where applicable)
If you are completing the application on behalf of another individual (for example, a minor or under Power of Attorney), you must indicate your capacity on the form and provide the necessary supporting documentation.
The completed form remains valid unless there is a change in your tax residency status or other relevant information. In such cases, you are required to notify the Credit Union within fourteen (14) calendar days and submit an updated Self-Certification Form.
