International Women’s Day honours the women who have paved the path towards our progress, struggled to take ‘womanhood’ to an esteemed level, and those who continue to carry it to the level it is at now.  Unfortunately, at the same time, the day is a reminder of the discrimination and inequality that continues to plague our society.

One of the female employees when speaking on the day said, “women too have a voice and need to be heard”.  She acknowledged that in this day, this is a tough process but emphasized women needing to be empowered.  She also made mention of the many gifts, skill-sets and will power they bring into the workforce.  Currently having been under the management of a female for over 15 years, UECUL has flourished as they aim to promote equality as well as produce and groom individuals for the now and future.

On this special day dedicated to women around the world, the ladies of United Enterprise Credit Union Limited celebrate the great success of women not only in Barbados or the Caribbean, but the entire world.  From the women of UECUL to you, we want to encourage you to press on.
